Meltdown 2016 is back in Bangalore for the second time. This summer, be prepared to feel the chill down your spine when B-Boys and B-Girls form all around, come together and showcase their ecstatic breaking moves. They don't intend to tune down 'the crazy' anytime soon. So, come & witness the dance moves that will leave your jaws falling to the ground.
When the Indian B-Boying scene was still at its infancy, Freeze started out in 2007 as small initiative by Black Ice Crew to bring B-Boys – young and old alike, from across the country under one roof to cypher, battle and go freakin crazy doing what they do best.

#716, C.M.H. Road, Indranagar
Bengaluru, Karnataka 560038

Gear up for Meltdown!
At this very moment, at some place out there in the world, people are using every ounce of their strength, passion and creativity to destroy the opposition on the dance floor. This very congregation can be witnessed all around the globe from New York to Bangkok; it is one of the main pillars of modern days’ most explosive subcultures – It’s B-Boying; it’s a battlefield where break-dancers can express themselves freely and capture this art- form in its true essence.
B-Boying, or break-dancing, is a style of street dance that was born in the 70’s on the pavements of forgotten neighbourhoods. Initially viewed as a fad, 40 years of progression have proven that breaking is here to stay. Today, this urban art form has a world-wide presence and grows in scale and influence with each passing day.
About the Organizer - Black Ice Crew, Bangalore
“We should consider every day lost on which we haven’t danced at least once”, Friedrich Nietzsche once said and we couldn’t agree more. Now, there are a lot of dance forms and all of them are equally elegant but one particular form, which has managed to grab a lot of eyeballs as well as the most misunderstood form of dancing, is B-Boying.”
Naser Al Azzeh, a member of Black Ice Crew – one of India’s best crews emphasises this fact by saying,”B-Boying is an art form. To some majority it is just a way to show off or simply label them as stunts. But it’s much more than that. It’s soulful when done in the right spirit”.
A Jordanian by nationality, Naser has lived in India for most part of his life. Aged 17, he got introduced to Hip-Hop through his elder sister who has a fine taste in Hip-Hop music. Naser was an attendee at events like Catch the Flava, Outbreak, and IBE.
He considers his crew, Black Ice as a great achievement. Apart from that, he hosts a jam every year, which is called FREEZE. However, this time, he is reaching out to an audience to crowdfund its summer edition -Meltdown 2016, and plans on to making it a grand success. He has won Battle of the Year and also IHLF, which was his first title in 2011. He’s quite the globe-trotter having visited a large part of Europe attending workshops and discovering the various nuances of the dance form. He says, “Work hard at what you love. Don’t waste your time doing things that you don’t like and it’ll make all the difference”. A true breaker, for life!

- 1 V/S 1 Breaking
- 1 V/S 1 Popping
- 2 V/S 2 Why So Serious
- 3 V/S 3 All Styles

We have also organized workshops for those who are interested in learning more about B-Boying. These intense dance sessions will be held a week after Meltdown 2016. To become a part of the workshop, crowdfund this event and book your place.
Why we're doing this:
B-Boying was initially started to save the destitute from getting influenced by the dark world of crime. This historic dance form provided them an opportunity to escape from the shackles of poverty and live their lives with pride and freedom. Today, it allows the under privileged to join a crew and learn to break-free by expressing themselves through free-style dance forms. We, at Black Ice Crew are no different and want to usher our support to the Indian B-Boying community by spreading out the message of love and peace all around the globe. And, this is only possible with your support.
This is where we need your help:
With your backing, we will be able to fund and organize the event Meltdown. Your funds will go directly towards making Meltdown 2016 a success – we aim to leverage off your support to spread the word and promote our B-Boy community! The amount that we currently have on our hands turns out to be a little short for the final event. In order to make Meltdown 2016 a grand success, we need to raise 5,000 INR. As a thank you for your support and funds, there are several rewards available for the pledges that you’re making.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!
